Lost Ark – How to Defeat Flame Fox Yoho Guardian Raid Guide

A guide on how to defeat Flame Fox Yoho in Lost Ark.

Lost Ark Yoho Raid

Flame Fox Yoho is one of the Lost Ark bosses that players can challenge in Guardian Raids. As the name implies, Yoho will use the power of flames to burn everyone that dares challenge it. It also has several kinds of attack patterns and mechanics that players will have to learn and take advantage of to be able to become victorious in this fight.

In this guide, we will look into Flame Fox Yoho’s attacks and share tips and strategies to win this raid.

How to Unlock Flame Fox Yoho Guardian Raid in Lost Ark

To Unlock Flame Fox Yoho Guardian Raid, you will first have to unlock the Guardian Raids by just progressing through the main story. Then, you will have to defeat all of the level 1 raid bosses. Finally, reach iLvl 540 to be able to enter the Yoho raid.

Flame Fox Yoho Phases

Yoho has three phases through which it gains more flames and fireballs in every phase. It will also move to a different part of the map once it moves on to its next phase.

Flame Fox Yoho Attacks

Charge

Yoho will start glowing, rear up a bit, and then charge in a straight line to where it is facing.

Though there are no indicators to show the direction of the charge, simply do a sidestep away from it is facing to avoid getting hit.

A variation of this attack is if Yoho glows blue, it becomes a stagger check. You can do a stagger attack on its head for a higher chance of stagger, or throw a Whirlwind Grenade. If the stagger is successful, then Yoho will be down for a few seconds and becomes open for an attack.

Jump Attack

Yoho will jump in place, causing a small shockwave around it while causing knockback and damage to players nearby.

Look out for when it rocks its body back to prepare for a jump. In phase 1, it will do a single jump, but in the later phases, it can jump multiple times as it chases players around.

Cannonball Jump

Yoho will jump up and disappear. A red circle marker will then appear on the spot where Yoho will then land on.

Once it jumps and disappears, stay clear of the red marker that follows to avoid getting hit.

Tail Whip

Yoho will turn its head to the side and whip its head towards that direction.

Keep an eye on its head and dodge away if it turns to the direction where you are at. You can also reposition in front of it to land some hits.

Tail Slam

Yoho will nod its head downwards and then slam its tail downwards right after, hitting anyone behind it.

Similar to the previous attacks, be aware of what its head is doing. For this attack, dodge towards its side to stay clear of the slam.

Flame Pools

Yoho will spin around and leave pools of fire at random spots nearby. These pools linger for a long time. Stepping on these pools will inflict burn that stacks up to 20 times, dealing more damage over time with more stacks.

Yoho can do this attack in multiple successions, effectively filling up the entire immediate area with flames. The strategy here is to move to a clear part of the map once the current gets engulfed in flames and becomes too tricky to navigate around.

In case you do get the burn stacks, try not to get a lot of stacks as it can easily eat away through your HP. Use a Panacea or it is better to have someone in your party who has a party-wide cleansing skill, like a Bard or a Gunlancer.

Clone Attack

Yoho will howl and teleport to a nearby spot and do a spin. Immediately right after, a clone will appear in the direction where Yoho is facing, which will also do a spin. On phases 1 and 2, yoho will only summon one clone, but on phase three, there will be a total of four clones that will appear on each of the four sides.

When you see the roar, orient yourself to Yoho’s corner or ordinal directions, that is: NE, NW, SE, and SW relative to where Yoho’s head is at. This way, you will avoid getting sandwiched by Yoho and one of the clones’ tail whips.

Fireball

The fireballs that revolve around Yoho’s neck will start shooting out to a player’s direction.

The balls fly fast, but they can easily be avoided.

Meteor Rain

Yoho will make meteors rain down from the sky. The spot where the meteor will land will glow yellow before impact. During this attack, Yoho can either be walking straight towards a random direction, or it can also just stay on one spot.

The impact sites are easily telegraphed by the glowing spots on the ground, so make sure to skirt around these spots to avoid getting hit.

Explosion

Yoho will charge up for a few seconds before releasing a large explosion.

This attack is a stagger check and everyone in the party should do their staggering skills and aim them towards Yoho’s head. You may also use Whirlwind Grenades to assist in the stagger.

Flame Fox Yoho Buff Attacks

Yoho has several special attacks that grants players a damage buff when they get hit. These attacks look similar to their regular counterparts, so it’s best to know what tells to look for to avoid getting them mixed up. It’s worth getting the buff since it gives a significant damage boost, plus the buff lasts for a whole minute.

Flamethrower

Yoho will crouch and shoot out a plume of flame from its mouth to the ground. Players that get hit with the flames will get the damage buff and a burn stack.

It’s important that you only dip yourself in the flames to minimize the burn stacks that you will get. Just even barely touching the flames will immediately grant you the buff. Another strategy is to get shielded by using the Protective Potion or have someone in the party cast a shielding skill so that you can still get the buff without getting burned.

Flaming Orb Ring

Yoho will shoot out 5 flaming orbs outward. These orbs will then revolve around it, creating a huge ring. The player with the least amount of health that is within this ring until the orbs disappear will get the damage buff.

During this attack, supports should stay out of the ring to make sure that the DPSer will be the one getting the buff.

Shooting Orbs

Yoho will shoot out large orbs from its back, followed by smaller orbs. The larger orbs will remain on the ground and will also start shooting out orbs of its own. These orbs will also inflict a stack of burn every hit, but getting hit by them three times will grant the player the damage buff.

Similar to the Flamethrower, try to get shielded during this phase to avoid getting burn stacks. The shield will not prevent the player from getting the damage buff.
